The Australian Democrats today said they would welcome convicted terrorist David Hicks running for the party as a candidate. Sandra Kanck, the Democrats' leader in South Australia, Hicks' home state, said she would be happy for him to seek a political career as a Democrat.
"I certainly wouldn't rule him out as a candidate"
Really Sandra? On what grounds would you rule someone out as a Democrat candidate?
She continued,
"The national executive would consider any protest against Hicks but I'd be surprised if any such protest occurred. I think if I was in his shoes I'd be wanting to keep a very low profile."
No, Sandra. I think if i was in your shoes i would keep a very low profile.
